Our processes include:
Silkscreen
In the prepress department, our skilled staff
meticulously prepares and produces the screens that will create
the finished product.
The
silkscreen process is relatively simple. It all begins with a fine
nylon mesh that is stretched taut over an aluminum frame.
An emulsion is then adhered to the screen and the design is exposed
to UV light against the emulsion which melts away the exposed areas
leaving a positive image on the screen where ink can flow freely
though. A single screen is made for each color utilized within the
design. Ink is then squeegeed through the frame which results in
a print being laid down.
This
process continues for each color in the design, using our state
of the art 10 color and 5 color pneumatic presses. The prints are
then dried and cured through a one million BTU gas dryer.
Dyes
Our dyes are environmentally friendly and formulated
here on the premises. The big plus in our water-based dye is that
they breathe, and you can't feel the print on the shirt. This results
in cleaner impressions as well as longer lasting prints.
Embroidery
The embroidery process is an artform that has been
around since 30,000 BC. Traditionally, artwork is embellished by
hand with needle and threads of various colors. Today, modern embroidery
is done on computerized machines creating up to 6 pieces at the
same time.
